The free schul.cloud and schul.cloud pro provide a secure and GDPR-compliant environment for communication between teachers, students and parents.
Educational institutions in particular have to comply with numerous legal frameworks when dealing with personal data and protecting students. As a provider of schul.cloud, we are aware of the great responsibility that we have towards you and your students in the context of data protection. In order to provide even more protection for these personal data, a new Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was introduced throughout Europe this year.
The new General Data Protection Regulation strengthens the rights of users of messengers and their personal data and punishes violations of providers with high fines. Messenger like WhatsApp, which require access to the private address book, may only be used in a purely private context. As soon as school data is stored there, the use according to GDPR is not compliant.
For the optimal security of your data schul.cloud offers a real end-to-end encryption. All chats are thus transmitted encrypted on the way to and from the server and stored there also encrypted. Your files are encrypted for transport. The schul.cloud is provided in a high security data center in Germany. This takes all necessary technical and organizational measures for data security.
In the course of the GDPR we would like to give you as transparent as possible information on the protection of the schul.cloud and make the introduction of schul.cloud at your school as easy as possible. Below you will find important data protection documents for download:
You need more detailed information about encryption in schul.cloud? This document describes the encryption standards that we use in our portal.
The privacy policy for the portal contains all information for the purpose of data processing, the types of data processed and the affected user groups as well as our server location.
If you need a directory for schul.cloud processing activities, you can download a template from this directory here.
When using the basic version of schul.cloud, a user agreement is concluded with each individual user. This concerns the modules Messenger and file storage. This contract of use is based on the terms of use and the privacy policy of the portal. All information regarding the type of data processed, the purpose of data processing, the affected user groups and schul.cloud server locations can be found by the user prior to the creation of this privacy statement. In addition to concluding the user contracts of the individual users, the school can conclude a contract processing contract with the provider of schul.cloud, stashcat GmbH. The order processing contract can be found here as a sample for downloading.
You can fill out the contract and keep it in your documents for future reference, a return is not necessary.
If a school decides to purchase the fee-based schul.cloud pro, a contract-processing contract will be concluded between the school and the contractor. This can be viewed, drawn and printed directly in the schul.cloud pro in the data protection portal. You can complete the contract and keep it in your records, and no return is required.
Transparency regarding privacy policy
We offer complete transparency about our privacy policy. Our terms of use can be found at schul.cloud/terms-of-use conditions.

schul.cloud allows the complete deletion of users and all associated personal data, as soon as, for example, the consent is withdrawn.
